| BEST NEIGHBOURS EVER |
[Nov. 25th, 2009|03:02 pm] |
Again.
Amy popped by for a visit for a while and then ended up bringing me a big pot of sauerkraut her uncle made, with hotdogs for dinner. I've never even had homemade sauerkraut but it smells awesome. She even provided the buns. Seriously, she's the best. She's also going to bring me some cured meat her uncle made, apparently it's quite similar to pepperoni. If there's none left when Tim gets home, then she OBVIOUSLY forgot to bring me some, it isn't just that I ate it all.
Can I just say that my pumpkin pie filling is the best tasting pumpkin pie filling I've ever tasted? Either I'm making really good food or my tastebuds are just going crazy and everything now tastes delicious, which is a possibility. |

I am so thankful for Tim! Last night he was a lifesaver. He carried everything upstairs for me, he cleaned all the bathrooms, and did most the kitchen. I was really not looking forward to the bathrooms. Not that they were disgusting, they are just time consuming.
I found an online radio station streaming christmas music, so I have that on upstairs. I really want music upstairs somehow, eventually.
I'm prepping all my veggies, and I think I'm smart, I have a container for scraps going for my soup stock! Broccoli and carrots are cut up.
Green bean casserole is good, omg, and it isn't even baked yet. The sauce is amazing!! I made french fried onions last night and they are deadly good.
Roasted pumpkin seeds from my two pie pumkins.. this time did them with butter and salt. GAH. Way too tasty.
Chocolate ice cream is done. Now I'm just going to make up my pumpkin custard for the pies. I still haven't decided if I'm going to bake them today or tomorrow. I have some pumpkin left over, think I should make something with it.
Tim's dad called and they are leaving at midnight tonight, so they'll likely arrive around 7 am tomorrow. They'll skip most the traffic, and Seamus will sleep through the trip. |

I don't feel cranky today, I just feel *off*. My back and ankles are aching so badly. I keep being afraid that I'm getting arthritis in them or something, but I know it's just from injuries and that bad sprains need time to heal.
Brought Reagan to Sunday school this morning.
Tim picked up a shelf for our laundry room, for tools and things. It's nicer than the one we had upstairs for our makeshift pantry, so we switched them out, and now I have an extra shelf of storage.
I hung my vintage glass and mirror snowflakes in the kitchen, I love them.
Made curtains for the guest bedroom. Tim and I were discussing the window there, we really need to buy blinds for the house. I have sheets hung in our bedroom and master bath, with bungee cords. Reagan's room and the living room are the only ones with curtains! I didn't want to bungee up some "curtains" for his parents, the curtains I sewed aren't amazing, but they'll work till we have the money/inclination for something better.
Worked on chicken soup all weekend, think I'm going to do dumplings with it.
Tim and Reagan are at the school track, down the road, with Reagan's bike. I'm vegging at home. Need to go and hem a pair of jeans for Reagan, fall really sneaked up on us! |

I have this cough that is driving me nuts. It doesn't happen often, but it's the fluttering and tightness I feel in my lungs beforehand that bothers me. I had a really hard time falling asleep because of it. It feels like the allergy induced asthma I had last spring. I have to make a doctor appointment soon anyway, so I'll get it checked out. (Made an appointment for tomorrow afternoon)
Making braised short ribs right now. Smells SO GOOD. I'm debating borrowing Amy's car to run to the store, I want to do potatoes with them, but I'm out.
Now back to laundry, laundry, laundry. We kinda slacked with everything this weekend! (It was nice) |
