Guess what arrived on my doorstep today from the Sony rep? If you guessed this, you are abso-fucking-lutely correct! How strange is it to have a second helping of your childhood served to you again 30 years later? Seriously? Cheap Trick At Budokan was such an important part of my youth...I gave the original a listen on my way home from my trip to Michigan this weekend and found tears streaming down my face at one point.
Speaking of which...my Grams turned 89 on Sunday. I'd probably be in prison like my biological father if it weren't for that woman laying down a proper foundation. It was such a trip seeing her fold paper airplanes with her great grandkids on Saturday. I'm also pleased to report that my family was on their best behavior and not a single member showed up drunk. That really made the event even more enjoyable. I'm sure the drinks were being poured immediately after we all parted ways, but I'm so happy that alcohol didn't destroy another family gathering.
As for the rest of my life...I've been on good behavior, man. No new tales to tell. How are you? |
